Lotus Temple Information

In year 1986, in month of December, Lotus temple was opened for general public. Since then, people come from all over India to worship here. Thousands of tourists also come here. Visitors enjoy serene environment and peace that they get over here. They enjoy doing here meditation. In fact, this place has especially thought to be a source of worshipping God. You will find here no sermons; no images and no rituals are performed over here. You are allowed to chant as well as read the scriptures of different religions too. Mr. Fariborz Sahiba, is the architect of this wonderful worship houses and he has also been approached for designing various other information centers as well as exhibits too. It was felt from many years that a place was required to be set up where the entire enquiry related to this can be easily addressed. It was then when Information centre idea was developed. In order to build this information centre, it took approximately 5 years and then it got opened for general public in year 2003 in month of March.

Information centre has been built as per the specifications of state of art and it is used for providing information on various facets. This includes scriptures and religion of Bahá'í Faith. This information is spread through photo panels form, written films and texts as well. This centre will be featuring main auditorium, visitor’s gallery and it also has seating capacity for people of more than 400. It also consists of seventy seated auditorium. The gallery will be focusing on Bahá’í Faith history as well as on its philosophy too. You will be getting awareness of various development and economic activities as well. These activities have been undertaken by Bahá’í religion all over the world. This gallery is having a brief history of central figures. You will get too see pictures of Bahá'í Houses of Worship. You can check out them on each continent and you will be getting introduced to Bahá’í religion from various cultures and backgrounds throughout the worlds. You will also find many beautiful images that will be showing you diversity of Bahá'í Faith followers.

You can also check out different edifices that are placed at Mount Carmel. This is situated in Israel, Haifa. This will be constituting world administrative and spiritual centre of Bahá’í Faith. You will be getting a glimpse of institutions and projects that re founded through Bahá’í. In this way, you will be getting an overview of Bahá’í contribution to economic and social development towards society. From time to time, movies are also showcased and these are for the good causes and these will be spreading social and positive message. Ustad Amjad Ali Khan performed one concert on terrace of information centre. This was performed for inauguration of colloquium on religion, development and sciences. In formation centre has been mainly developed for those people who are interested in knowing about Bahá’í Faith and their houses of worship. If you have access to passes then entry will be free for you. You can get these passes through volunteers standing at prayer halls. You can visit the centre between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm in summers and in winters.
